Rest is not the same as recovery:   The psychology of recovery from sport demands

Athletes have to deal with physical and psychological demands in training and competition. Whereas physical rest is considered the primary way to recovery physically, psychological recovery appears to be less straightforward. What is psychological recovery? What can athletes do to recover better? And what is the role of the coach or organization? This talk will explore the answers to these questions from a theoretical, empirical, as well as practical perspective.
