Dear Colleagues and Friends,
It is our pleasure to invite you and your colleagues to the Workshop “Cognitive and Motor Functions of the Vestibular System”, which will take place July 5th-6th 2018 in Marseilles, France. It is based on the observation that the cognitive and motor processes relying on vestibular information are usually considered in separate meetings or sessions that the idea of gathering together people working on these different vestibular-related processes took shape. Limited to 80 participants with presentations from invited speakers, and open for free oral and poster presentations, the format of this 2-day workshop should be a valuable instrument to foster interactions between all participants.

The preliminary program of the Workshop is available upon request. Participation and lunches (Thursday 5th and Friday 6th) are free of charge, but registration is required. The number of places available being limited, we suggest to register and submit your abstract soon through this link: Workshop Registration. Registrations will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis and registrations confirmation will be provided soon after reception. All presentations will be done in English. The deadline for registration is 20 June 2018.

Invited speakers
Patrick Haggard (U.K.): Title to be announced
Bigna Lenggenhager (Switzerland): The plastic self: how vestibular signals influence the sense of self and embodied cognition
Pieter Medendorp (The Netherlands): Vestibular contributions to spatial updating and target selection
Raymond Reynolds (U.K.): Coordinate transformations for vestibular control of balance
Paul Smith (New Zealand): Vestibular contributions to hippocampal and striatal function

The Workshop will be held on the Saint-Charles campus of Aix-Marseilles University. This campus is next to the Saint-Charles train/metro station and 25 minutes from the Marseille-Provence Airport by shuttle. July is a pleasant but relatively high tourist season in Marseilles. We therefore encourage you to arrange for your accommodation in advance. To have a glimpse of Marseilles, you can visit these links Discover Marseilles, and Calanques of Marseilles

We sincerely hope to see you in Marseille next July !
